Our Mission

Who We Are

Legacy Insurance is an Independent Insurance Agency serving the states of Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, Florida and Missouri. We’ve carefully selected over 50 highly rated insurance carriers to provide you with the best level of service, price, and coverage. As an Independent Agency, we are not beholden to one particular insurance company. This enables us to choose the best carrier for YOUR insurance needs.

We also make it very easy to get started. At Legacy Insurance, each of our clients is given a dedicated team of risk advisors who work to develop and implement a customized insurance strategy specifically designed to fit your needs. And if you don’t believe us, check out what our customers say about us.

Our goal is to develop a long-term relationship with you built on trust, integrity, professionalism and unsurpassed customer service.

Our Process

Our Process

Our strength is that we “shop” your insurance through over 50 highly rated insurance carriers to provide you with a personalized insurance strategy centered around the best value for the right coverage. And should life changes alter your insurance needs, we repeat the process and make sure you still have the best strategy for your current situation. We do the work for you so you’re not wasting hours of your valuable time.  We have 7 licensed risk advisors with a combined 86 years of professional insurance experience. No need is too complex or situation unfamiliar to our team of professionals

Our History

Our History

Legacy Insurance was founded by Joe Bob and Tammy Whitt in 2011.  After a long and successful career as an ALFA insurance agent, Joe Bob felt he could better serve his clients as an independent agent. In 2020, Legacy acquired Insurance Place which opened in 1983 in Childersburg & Birmingham, Alabama.  Despite our growth, our approach is unchanged; building a trusting relationship with each client and developing a life-long insurance strategy tailored to your specific needs.
